Suvudu's previous gateway novel, Republic Commando: Hard Contact, told the story of love, loss, victory, betrayal, and strategy from the perspective of an elite Republic clone trooper squad. Now if they'd like to do a single spinoff movie of the Shatterpoint novel, I'd be all for that. Sure, his character Mace Windu died a rather pathetic death in Episode III, but since when has that stopped a Star Wars character from returning to the big screen? Mace Windu was a weak character with weak acting, who died a fittingly weak death. My biggest beef with the series though is that it is considered the official version of the Clone Wars, thus crapping all over previously established literature and continuity. If you want some actual quality entertainment set in the time period, try the acclaimed Ostrander/Blackman/Ostrander run on the REPUBLIC comics, or the Apocalpyse-Now inspired novel SHATTERPOINT.
